How To Make Homemade Jam In The Microwave In 30 Minutes

October 8, 2018

If like us, you are drowning in strawberries, this is an awesome tip for making great tasting strawberry jam in the microwave in just 30 minutes.  Depending on the size/power of your microwave, you can make up to three jars at a time.

Before you dismiss this as -‘ can’t be as good as traditionally made jam’ – my wife entered a jar of microwave jam into a jam making contest a few years back and she won first prize!

To be honest, if I was making a huge batch of jam, I would still go down the traditional route, as it is probably quicker if you are doing a huge batch.  That said, if you just want to do just a few jars of jam at a time, I seriously urge you to give this a try.  You will be blown away by the results and you’ll probably never make jam the old way again!

How To Brew Your Own Kombucha

Kombucha

Kombucha is an effervescent fermentation of sweetened tea. Sometimes referred to as a “mushroom” or “mother”, the kombucha culture is actually a symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast that is amazingly good for your gut health.

Kombucha is easy to make and delicious to drink. If you have never tried kombucha, wow you are in for a treat… It’s like nothing else you’ve ever tried. Kombucha is great fun to try brewing, and once you have a live culture, it’s easy to have a constant supply on tap. Any citrus fruit can be used for making marmalade. Bitter or sweet oranges, lemons, grapefruit, tangerines, satsumas and ugli fruit, on their own or in various combinations.

Flavorings such as ginger, whisky, rum, brandy, treacle and apricots can be added but the citrus flavor must predominate. See how to make some below.

In a SHTF situation, pretty much all the food available will be gone. Eventually all of your stored food will also be gone. You will need protein in your diet and the only good source of protein will be wild animals that you can find around your bug in or out location. The most popular most likely will be squirrel and small birds and mice.

I wanted to get a wide range of different animal recipes, I spent sometime looking at different websites and eventually found a great collect of recipes for wild animals that you maybe able to catch. From alligator to woodcock.
