I love the optimism of including fishing tackle in survival kits. It’s hard enough to catch a fish with all the proper gear, power bait and a hot thermos of coffee much less in a survival situation.
I agree Travis. What really gets me is the fact that I’m allergic to fish. So i guess I’ll just starve.
Your griping about whats in the kit without thinking.. Fishing line and hooks can be used to bait a line for things such as squirrels, turkeys and etc. It does not have to be for fishing alone. Though in my kits I carry 4 steel fishing leaders. Survival is about thinking, not getting emotional.
